Cudahy council approves software, contracts and five resolutions in unanimous votes

At its Feb. 7 meeting, the Cudahy Common Council unanimously approved a water-billing software agreement, a tree-removal contract not to exceed $250,000, measures to replace lead service lines using State funds and five resolutions, including denial of a citizen claim and honors for local residents and an officer.
The Common Council of the City of Cudahy met Feb. 7, 2017 and unanimously approved a series of contracts, funding actions and resolutions after routine consideration.
The council approved an agreement between Civic Systems and the Cudahy Water Utility for a water utility billing software package (motion by Ald. Johnson, second by Ald. Litkowiec). The council also approved entering a tree removal contract not to exceed $250,000 (motion by Ald. Litkowiec, second by Ald. Hollenbeck).
On matters related to lead service replacement, council members approved the use of State of Wisconsin Safe Drinking Water funds for owner-occupied residential properties and for State-licensed schools and daycares (motion by Ald. Moralez, second by Ald. St. Marie-Boelkow) and approved a Lead Pipe Replacement Agreement between property owners and the Utility (motion by Ald. Moralez, second by Ald. Hollenbeck). A separate discussion of Private Property Lead Service Replacement Funding procedures was recorded with no action taken.
The council also approved five resolutions unanimously: Resolution No. 7095 denying the claim of Kathryn Strube; No. 7096 honoring Richard Stelloh as St. Francis’ 2016 “Citizen of the Year”; No. 7097 recognizing Officer Rob Jachowicz for organizing the Cudahy Police Department’s National Night Out; No. 7098 authorizing replacement of the property-side portion of lead water service lines using funds provided by the State of Wisconsin Safe Drinking Water Loan Program; and No. 7099 authorizing execution of the Department of Natural Resources “Principal Forgiven Financial Assistance” agreement.
All roll-call votes were recorded as carried unanimously by the council members present. No public comments on agenda items were made at the meeting.
