Audubon County department heads back plan to reinstate Compensation Board

At the 10:35 a.m. monthly Department Head meeting on July 9, Audubon County department heads discussed and largely supported reinstating a Compensation Board. Chairman Heath Hansen said a resolution to reinstate the Compensation Board will be drafted for consideration at the board’s next meeting.
Department heads received operational updates: Custodian Hansen provided an update on courthouse HVAC work and said coordination with the construction contractor had slowed because of a separate courthouse roof issue; Sheriff Todd Johnson said radio equipment relocation is targeted for late July or early August; and Recorder Miranda Bills said mail service has improved overall but reported the county wellness program was at zero points and urged employees to complete required appointments.
Supervisor Hansen said he will contact the contractor, Graphite, to schedule consistent weekly updates on the HVAC project. The department head discussion produced a clear direction to bring a Compensation Board resolution to the board next week; the meeting record does not show a formal vote on the resolution at this session.
