Board accepts attorney’s office resignation, approves hires, wage changes and nondiscrimination resolution

Following an exempt session July 2, the Audubon County Board of Supervisors accepted the resignation of County Attorney’s Office legal assistant Angie Baylor and approved a resolution to hire her as an as‑needed County Attorney Legal Assistant effective July 8, 2024 at $25.81 per hour without benefits.
The board also approved Resolution 2024-37 raising Sarah Irlbeck’s wage to $23.31 per hour for a full‑time County Attorney Legal Assistant position and assigning her interim duties as Victim Witness Coordinator, effective July 8, 2024.
Supervisors unanimously adopted Resolution 2024-33 affirming the county’s commitment to comply with federal equal employment opportunity laws. The board additionally approved Resolution 2024-34 authorizing payroll deductions for state and federal taxes, IPERS, FICA and several group and voluntary benefit providers for FY25.
Why it matters: the personnel actions change staffing arrangements and pay for the County Attorney’s Office and formalize payroll and equal‑employment practices for FY25. The board recorded motions and unanimous votes for each resolution.
What’s next: HR and the Auditor will implement payroll changes and update personnel records to reflect the wage adjustments and as‑needed hire.
