Jotham Arber of Audubon County Public Health told the Board of Supervisors that the county will move from a one‑year to a five‑year 28E agreement with Guthrie County, with amendments allowed as needed. The board voted to approve and sign the 28E agreement for recording (motion Sorensen/Hansen; vote all in favor).
Arber said opioid settlement funding recipients will document expenditures using a workbook so funds are tracked like other grants. He also told the board Public Health employees will receive pay raises in FY25 to align compensation with needs and that he will meet with Elderbridge at the end of July. Arber and EMA Director Tyler Thygesen are jointly working on solutions for ambulance services within the county.
The board recorded the motion approving the 28E agreement, and Arber outlined next steps for grant tracking and staffing; no formal vote on ambulance service changes appears in the minutes.
