Board approves stormwater plan, Jay Street Wall final payment and authorizes backhoe purchase

Supervisors approved the Berks Homes stormwater plan for 803 Kimmerlings Road, authorized Allgyer Enterprises' final payment for the Jay Street Wall project (to be reimbursed via a $300,000 LSA grant), renewed Reazer's Junkyard license, approved a tree dedication, and authorized purchase of a John Deere backhoe at $165,200.
At its May 18 meeting the North Lebanon Township Board approved multiple infrastructure and routine financial actions.
The Board unanimously approved the stormwater-only plan and related agreements for Berks Homes for 803 Kimmerlings Road after engineer Michael Groff confirmed required documents and a posted bond. The Board also approved the meeting minutes and authorized payroll, fund balances and payment of invoices subject to audit.
Manager Lori Books presented Allgyer Enterprises' final payment request #3 for the Jay Street Wall project, requesting $26,923.75 which would zero out the contract. The engineer recommended payment and the Board authorized final payment; the project’s total cost was reported as $281,975 and the Township will seek reimbursement through a $300,000 Local Share Account (LSA) grant received for the project.
The Board authorized Public Works Director Jared Balsbaugh to order a new John Deere backhoe from Groff Tracker & Equipment at a quoted price of $165,200; the Township had been awarded $160,000 in LSA grant funds toward the purchase and expects approximately four months for delivery. The Board also approved the annual junkyard license renewal for Reazer’s, Inc. at 2449 Elias Avenue following an inspection and approved a Tree Dedication Agreement with Phyllis Casper for Lenni Lenape Park.
Solicitor Amy Leonard presented and the Board granted an easement to the Municipal Authority to allow access to water lines on Township property along N. 7th Street at N. 8th Avenue.
