The Wenden Elementary School Board of Trustees approved multiple personnel items at its regular meeting on Aug. 19, 2025, including the hiring of a paraprofessional and appointments to coaching positions.
Brianna Davis moved to accept a contract for Mia Brady as a paraprofessional; Kelly Stacy seconded the motion and the minutes record the motion as approved. The minutes state the hire was approved 4-0. The board also approved coaching assignments: Pam Wolfe-Brady as volleyball coach and Michael Best as flag football coach, with the motion recorded as approved 4-0.
Board President Gary Saiter opened the meeting at 6:00 p.m. and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Earlier in the agenda the board approved the meeting agenda and the consent agenda (which included July minutes, payroll and voucher ratification, a student-activities revenue report and a teacherage report). The meeting minutes record those agenda votes as "Motion approved 3-0" but include a roll display that lists four members as "Aye," an internal inconsistency in the minutes noted in the record.
Board members reviewed and signed Exhibit BCB-E (Board Member Conflict of Interest, Policy BCB) as a procedural compliance step; no separate vote was recorded. The board discussed revisions to Policy GCF (Professional Staff Hiring) and agreed to change the policy language to better meet district needs; those revisions will be added to the next meeting agenda for formal consideration.
The board tentatively set its next regular meeting for Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. and adjourned at 6:42 p.m.
