Mayor says $700,000 state funding request for North Royalton pavilion included in Capitol Budget

North Royalton — Mayor Paul F. Marnecheck told City Council on June 2 that the city’s request for state funds for a pavilion adjacent to the municipal pond has been included in the state Capitol Budget, currently listed at $700,000.
"Right now, the amount is $700,000 and this would be for the pavilion adjacent to the pond," Marnecheck said, adding that the proposal could change and that the city will need to work with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources if the General Assembly approves the budget. He commended Tom Jordan for helping the city secure the funding request.
Marnecheck also noted near-term preparations for the George Modock Jr. Memorial Fishing Derby on June 12, including pond algae treatment and fish stocking, and said automatic doors for the Senior Center entrance are in the planning stages.
The budget allocation remains contingent on the Ohio General Assembly’s final vote and any required ODNR approvals.
