Williams council adopts routine minutes, agenda and consent items; amends resolution and approves moratorium appeal

At its May 28 meeting the Williams City Council unanimously approved routine business including May 14 minutes, the meeting agenda and consent purchase orders (including a Visitor Center roof replacement), amended Resolution No. 1465 to FY 2027, and approved a moratorium appeal allowing an applicant to pursue a daycare Conditional Use Permit.
The Williams City Council met May 28, 2026, and unanimously approved a series of routine actions that cleared the way for staff and applicants to proceed with scheduled work. Mayor Don Dent confirmed a quorum and the council first approved the May 14 meeting minutes and adopted the evening’s agenda.
The council then approved the consent agenda, which included multiple purchase orders. Council discussion noted a Visitor Center roof replacement and that the Historic Commission had approved the chosen replacement material. The consent agenda motion was moved by Councilmember Kennelly and seconded by Councilmember Payne and passed unanimously.
The council also amended Resolution No. 1465 to reflect Fiscal Year 2027 rather than Fiscal Year 2026. The City Clerk read the resolution by number and title before the council voted to approve the amendment (motion moved by Councilmember Payne; seconded by Councilmember Kennelly). The motion passed unanimously.
Finally, the council voted to approve a moratorium appeal for an applicant (see separate coverage). All recorded motions during the meeting passed without dissent.
