The Wells Branch Municipal Utility District Board on Nov. 18 approved two TexaScapes proposals to install hardwood and understory trees and took routine asset-management actions.
TexaScapes representative Kyle Fadal presented proposal no. 10682 for installation of hardwood trees (36" box specimens, three- to four-inch caliper trunks depending on species) in the amount of $20,224.50 and proposal no. 10686 for native understory and fruiting trees in the amount of $16,660.50. Fadal said all proposed trees were native and beneficial to the area. The Board voted unanimously to approve both proposals.
Director Palmer presented a Resolution Declaring Certain Property to be Surplus and an Order Authorizing Sale for equipment that had been damaged or replaced. District Manager Shirley Ross said surplus items would be sold via an online government auction managed by Matt Fuller. The Board approved the resolution unanimously.
The Parks & Facilities committee recommended increasing the not-to-exceed budget for the Willow Bend parking lot light replacement project by $10,000 to include replacement of rusted poles, raising the cap to $20,000; the Board approved the increase unanimously.
These actions advance planned landscape improvements and routine disposal of obsolete equipment while allowing staff to proceed with lighting repairs anticipated for the Willow Bend parking lot.
