Planning & Zoning introduces new members; staff reports sidewalk grant to MoDOT, clarifier inspections

Planning and Zoning representative Tatyana Osenniy reported that on May 26 the commission introduced new members, approved minutes, and discussed commercial property density and the potential addition of C‑1 and C‑2 zoning classifications. The commission also discussed a possible retail fireworks business and postponed action on the Davis non‑conforming plat (property north of Morelock). Comprehensive plan topics were discussed but no final actions were recorded in the board minutes.
Administrator Chad Bybee told the board a sidewalk grant application has been sent to the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) for approval; once MoDOT approval is received the city can put the sidewalk work out to bid. Bybee also reported final inspections on the wastewater clarifier are scheduled for the week of the meeting and that the city’s CPA is preparing next year’s budget for presentation at an upcoming meeting.
The board noted discussion of types of street paving options for future projects. Morelock conditional use for apartments is under consideration; minutes state that if conditional use is granted the apartments would have to be sold as a group. Chief Laughlin was listed as sending letters to property owners who need to mow. The minutes show six citizens present but record no named public comments.
