At its Sept. 9 meeting the Governing Board recognized Toni Sanchez as the district’s Exceptional Employee for September, citing her service as a special education paraprofessional and substitute teacher coordinator. The board also recognized officers of the National Junior Honor Society for 2024–25: President Reese Cruea, Vice President Rowen Egan, Secretary Aurelia Chavez and Treasurer Rachel White.
The board considered and approved a request for a spring 2025 educational trip for the National Junior Honor Society and Mountain Vista Student Council to New Orleans, Louisiana, scheduled for May 2025. The motion to approve the trip was made by Camilo Gotay and seconded by Gary Terrell; the minutes record the motion as carried with all members in favor. The meeting record does not include trip logistics, funding sources, or chaperone details; those are assumed to be in the trip proposal and supporting materials.
