College Township introduces new economic development specialist; incubator group flags wet‑lab space need

Executive Director Keri Kenepp introduced Benjamin (Ben) Dworsky as College Township’s new Economic Development Specialist at the CTIDA regular meeting on May 20. Kenepp asked to continue receiving copies of correspondence for workflow continuity.
Kenepp said she attended the Incubator Working Group meeting with Dworsky on May 13 and that members identified wet‑lab space as an immediate business need in the region; a group member will prepare a cost‑benefit analysis and the group plans to meet again in June. She also reported ongoing discussions with Todd Erdley of Ben Franklin Technologies about incubator space needs and said other municipalities are noticing the success of College Township’s Small Business Grant program and considering similar incentives.
Kenepp noted that, as part of Invent Penn State programming, a Business Resource Guide will be posted on the Chamber of Business and Industry Centre County (CBICC) website. She said she attended an initial meeting of the Central Pa Flow Deal, an initiative aimed at funding and retaining businesses in Centre County, and mentioned that Josiah Jones is the new executive director of the Moshannon Valley Economic Development Partnership; she may invite him to present to the Authority because the Moshannon Valley is part of Centre County.
Kenepp told the Authority that Township Council will begin reviewing recommendations for elements of the hybrid Form Based Code in the Dale Summit Area, and that Council will receive a presentation on geological mapping of the SCI‑Rockview property. The updates were provided as part of Kenepp’s Executive Director report; no formal vote or action was taken on these items during the meeting.
