Gilford reports DPW building on schedule; board approves $38,396 in radio equipment

Public Works Director Meghan Theriault told the Board that work on the new DPW building is progressing on schedule, with half the garage slab poured, rebar and footing work underway, rough mechanical/electrical/plumbing progressing and the pole-barn main structure nearing completion. Theriault said crews are also handling culvert replacements, catch basin cleanings, cemetery mapping and fleet maintenance while the division operates out of the Belmont shop.
The Board approved a motion to accept proposals from Motorola Solutions and Ossipee Mountain Electronics for new radio equipment totaling $38,395.91, to be paid from the DPW project bond account. The motion was made by Selectman Gus Benavides, seconded by Selectman Richard Grenier, and passed 3-0.
Theriault also reported operational items: leftover salt-budget funds were used to stock the salt shed at current-year pricing, the Sewer Division has CCTV and manhole work out to bid, and a residential compost pilot was launched with a public information night and training on compost tumblers.
Completion of the DPW project remains targeted for August, according to Theriault's update.
