Board continues East Caseview Road application to Sept. 2 after family emergency request

The planning board voted to continue consideration of the land-use application for the property referenced as 6206235 East Caseview Road to its Sept. 2 meeting after staff said the applicant requested more time because of a family emergency.

Acting Chair Quinn Williams opened the meeting and identified the single agenda item as the Case 6206235 matter. George, a staff member who conducted roll call, told the board the applicant—s attorney, Gallagher, had submitted a written request for a continuance and that staff supported postponing the item to Sept. 2. "Due to a family emergency, they are requesting that this application be continued to the September 2 meeting date," George said, adding that if the board continued the case to that date the applicant would not need to renotice; staff would repost the property as a courtesy.

The request drew no substantive questions from board members. Committee member Jim Kirkendall moved to accept the request for a continuance to the Sept. 2 meeting; a board member seconded the motion. The chair called the vote and roll-call responses recorded ayes from the members present. Staff announced that the motion passed by voice vote.

Staff also told members the board goes on hiatus in July and August; any applications received over the summer will be processed and, if ready, placed on the Sept. 2 agenda. George said the meeting packet will be resent to members about a week before the September meeting. With no other business, the acting chair accepted a motion to adjourn and the board closed its session for the summer.

The continuance does not change the board's next scheduled meeting on Sept. 2, when the application will be considered unless the applicant withdraws or otherwise advises staff.
