Director of Administration Spencer Mitchell said the grant would cover about 95% of the project, leaving the city’s share at approximately $24,000. The resolution passed by roll call, 6–0.
Resolution 2733‑26, moved by Mrs. Collier and seconded by Mr. Thackery, seeks an Infrastructure & Capacity Enhancement (ICE) grant to replace the airport’s underground fuel storage with an above‑ground system. Mitchell said the total project is estimated at $700,000 and the city would cover 10% of that cost; the project includes complete removal of the old underground system. Council approved the resolution 6–0.
Resolution 2734‑26, moved by Mr. Thackery and seconded by Mr. Scott, would apply for grant funding to replace the automated weather observation system (AWOS). Mitchell said the city has spent about $25,000 on maintenance over the last 15 years, the replacement cost is $287,500, and the city's 5% share would be $14,375. The resolution passed 6–0.
A walk‑in Resolution 2735‑26 was introduced and approved (moved by Mrs. Collier, seconded by Mr. Thackery) to clarify matching‑funds language for a previously submitted runway rehabilitation grant; Mitchell said the change was a technicality and the city will not pay more than an indicated cap (up to $37,000). That resolution also passed 6–0.
Each grant application was authorized by roll‑call vote with all present council members voting in favor; the applications will proceed through ODOT’s competitive selection process.
