The governing board of Beaver Creek School District #26 conducted a first reading Tuesday of multiple policy updates provided by The Trust, the district’s policy service, reflecting recent state legislative changes.
Superintendent Allie Wheeler presented the packet of updated policies and said most edits respond to new legislation or clerical corrections. She asked board members to submit any questions by the end of August so attorneys can review issues and staff can follow up with individual board members. "No approval is needed at this time," the minutes record.
The list of first‑read items included updates on governing board meetings and open meeting law, parent/legal guardian rights, health care credentials, budget adoption procedures, food services nutrition and ultra‑processed foods guidance, emergency response plans and training, public records procedures, board authority to employ under A.R.S. § 15‑536 and § 15‑538.01, open enrollment, students with disabilities (IDEA) and a noted change extending an IEP review window from 15 to 45 days.
Board member Carlos Ramos asked whether the packet represented the entire policy manual; Mrs. Wheeler clarified the packet contained only updates required by legislation and that the full manual had been reviewed previously during the district’s adoption of the policy service.
