Beaver Creek School District #26’s governing board unanimously approved several routine but operational items Tuesday, including the district’s annual Capital Plan for submission to the Arizona School Facilities Board, preauthorization for out‑of‑district field trips, and multiple personnel actions.
Superintendent Allie Wheeler and Ms. Womack told the board the Capital Plan is a required annual report used by the School Facilities Board (SFB) to identify districts that may need building funding. Mrs. Wheeler said the district projected a decrease in student enrollment this year and noted campus capacity at 738 students.
The board also preapproved several recurring field trips that exceed 50 miles: a Diamondbacks STEM event and game for seventh grade, a Phoenix Zoo trip for third grade, Camp Colton and the Science Center for sixth grade. Dates and times were listed as to be announced, and the board voted unanimously to permit the district to bring individual trip details forward when known.
On personnel, the board approved hires pending fingerprint clearance and background checks, including Lauren Gardenhire as a health aide (to be reclassified as a paraprofessional after passing the paraprofessional test). The board approved annual stipends for additional duties and FY26 fall sports coaches as presented. Board members discussed stipend roles, including team lead positions (by grade band) and the athletic director duties; Mrs. Wheeler described the athletic director’s coordination role and said CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) trainer recertification varies by year between two full days for full recertification and about eight hours in off years.
All motions for these items were carried by unanimous roll‑call votes.
