The Committee of Precinct Chairs of Plymouth opened its Jan. 15 meeting at 7:00 p.m. in the Great Hall with roll call and procedural business. Chair Matt Tavares moved to approve the meeting agenda as written; the motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
Wrestling Brewster moved to approve amended minutes for Sept. 29 and Nov. 20, 2025; Charles Vautrain seconded. The minutes were approved with a recorded vote of 15 yes, 0 no and 3 abstentions (Precincts 5, 8 and 16), per the meeting record.
Committee members then heard a presentation from the League of Women Voters about a Feb. 5 "Run for Local Office" workshop and a Feb. 12 companion panel on town taxes (see separate article). The committee conducted a brief review of Fall Town Meeting warrant articles and made several procedural recommendations: precinct chairs should monitor Advisory & Finance Committee and Select Board schedules for articles of interest; request that Lee Folsom (See Plymouth) attend when Article 20 is discussed; invite the Capital Committee to present priorities; and coordinate early with the Finance Committee chair to understand recommendations.
Pompey Delafield moved to start the next four meetings at 6:00 p.m. (Feb. 9, Feb. 19, March 9 and March 19); Christopher Merrill seconded. The transcript records the motion as "passed 17-0-01(Precinct 8)"; the numeric formatting in the record is unclear, so the exact vote tally beyond the recorded text could not be verified from the transcript.
In new business, Chair Tavares asked members to schedule caucus meetings and copy COPC coordinator Kristin Ford. The committee was notified that KP Law will hold an Open Meeting Law workshop on Feb. 26 at 6:00 p.m. in the Great Hall. There was no old business and no public comment recorded. Wrestling Brewster moved to adjourn at 7:38 p.m.; the motion passed by roll call vote.
