Trustees adopt resolution to use internet auctions to sell surplus property
Summary

In a January organizational action trustees adopted a resolution expressing intent to dispose of unneeded township property, including motor vehicles and equipment, through Internet auctions.
The resolution (adopted as motion #120103.07) cites Ohio Revised Code Section 505.10 and designates the Township Administrator as the official point of contact for internet auctions. The minutes record the Board’s decision to contract with GovDeals, Inc. to conduct auctions and require items to be listed with pertinent information and a minimum price; sales were to be available for a minimum of ten days on the vendor website in accordance with the statute.
The resolution directs staff to inventory items, present the list for a formal vote recognizing items to be disposed and set minimum prices and terms. It also requires guaranteed payment in full before transfer of items and specifies that revenue be deposited into the General Fund or appropriated to the specific fund where proceeds originated.
Trustees repeated similar authority for 2013 with a December motion authorizing internet auctions for the 2013 calendar year (#121218.05).
