Upper Moreland Parks & Recreation reports progress on capital projects; library schedules volunteer fair

Parks and Recreation Director Kate Kohler told the committee the department is advancing four major capital projects: Woodlawn redevelopment, Pico Power Line Trail design, Bonnet Lane utility coordination, and the Farmstead Spring House restoration. She said that spring recreation programming is continuing with youth and adult leagues, including softball and a new pickleball league, plus senior programs and summer camp preparation for Upper Moreland residents.
"Some highlights from April were major progress on township capital improvements, such as the Woodlawn redevelopment, Pico Power Line Trail design, the Bonnet Lane utility coordination, and the Farmstead Spring House restoration project," Kohler said, and added she would be happy to answer questions about the monthly report.
Diane Walton, a Ward 1 member of the Library Board of Trustees, told the committee that because the library’s May board meeting had not yet occurred the approved April/May minutes will appear in the June packet. She announced a volunteer fair scheduled for Saturday, June 13 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Upper Moreland Primary School during the Lions Club Cool Car Show and encouraged organizations to contact the library to participate.
Walton also highlighted the library’s JobNow service, a virtual job‑search platform providing live resume and interview help daily between 2:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., accessible via the library website. She said the library will survey the community this summer and fall as part of an update to its strategic plan.
No public comments were offered on non‑agenda items, and the committee approved the April 20 meeting minutes at the start of the session.
