Committee moves to routine reports; public works answers trash-can and fleet questions; EAC previews August event

A Public Works representative said members had the May report in their packets and had nothing further to add. Commissioners asked about stickers recently placed on trash cans; staff said the stickers (including a yellow recycling marker) indicate clearance requirements (about three feet from cars or other objects) and advised residents to call for scheduled large-item pickups so additional trucks can be dispatched. The representative said the new collection truck had not yet been delivered and that extra runs are scheduled once the equipment is in service.
An Environmental Advisory Council member reported outreach at the first annual Pennypack ecological restoration event, noting roughly 60 people stopped by the EAC table; the council is planning bird-focused activities and community engagement, and has bought screening rights for the film The Extraordinary Caterpillar at the library on Aug. 1. The EAC speaker also said the committee should improve visibility for the EAC and the Historical Commission on the township website; staff said a website redesign with CivicPlus is planned and will be addressed as part of system upgrades.
An announcement noted the board had met in executive session before the meeting to discuss labor issues. The meeting closed after additional procedural items and reports.
