Bisbee council accepts $10,400 bid for surplus strip of land adjacent to Black Knob

City Planner J. Emanuel Stuart presented a public auction for a narrow strip of surplus land off Black Knob, approximately 4,609 square feet, with a minimum bid of $10,400. Stuart said the auction was initiated after a request by adjacent property owner John Roupe.
Mayor Ken Budge conducted the auction. Sandy Tillcock, representing John Roupe, placed a bid for $10,400 and said she had a blank check prepared to pay the City of Bisbee and could contact Mr. Roupe by cell phone if needed. No additional bids were received.
Mayor Budge moved to accept the bid from John Roupe in the amount of $10,400; Councilmember Pete Skinner seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. Staff will complete the sale according to the city’s surplus property process.
