Committee approves two appointments and tightens YIG candidate list after attendance review

The Kenosha County Planning, Development & Extension Education Committee on May 13 recommended two appointments and modified its Youth In Governance candidate list after reviewing attendance records.
Erin K. Pugh attended the meeting and provided a brief summary of her experience; the committee approved a resolution recommending her appointment to the Kenosha County Zoning Board of Adjustments by motion of Eric Meadows and second by Sarah Kirby. The motion passed unanimously, including the Youth In Governance representative.
Paul Tollard attended to summarize his qualifications for service on the Southeastern Wisconsin Fox River Commission; Sarah Kirby moved and Jeff Cologna seconded a resolution recommending his appointment and it also passed unanimously, including YIG.
Camille Carlson, Positive Youth Development Educator, reported on 2025–26 YIG attendance. The committee reviewed the interview team’s recommended 2026–27 slate, approved the list for further discussion, and then voted to amend the list to remove two candidates who did not meet the program’s attendance requirements. Motions related to the YIG slate passed unanimously, with YIG abstaining where recorded.
The committee also approved the meeting minutes and wished outgoing YIG representative Kendall LeGrande well in her future endeavors. No citizen comments were recorded.
