CDC moves temporary 60‑foot construction trailer request to full board; resolution to be prepared

Upper Moreland staff asked the Community Development Committee on May 11 to refer a request for a temporary construction trailer longer than the code limit to the full board.
The township code limits temporary trailers to 40 feet and up to two units. Staff said the project applicant requested a single 60‑foot trailer to improve vehicle circulation during the project; staff recommended forwarding the request and preparing a resolution for the June meeting. "I have no issues with the proposal and I recommend the board move this for action at the June meeting," the manager said.
Commissioners agreed to send the item to the full board; they also discussed that because this publicly noticed meeting included a quorum, the board could, outside of the formal session, poll members and, if four members agreed, authorize issuance of a temporary permit and later memorialize that action at the June meeting.
The committee did not adopt a final resolution at the CDC meeting; staff will prepare the resolution and present it at the June board meeting where formal action will occur.
