Owners Darby and Simone Jones told the board the work converts an enclosed porch into a landing, mudroom and half bath to maximize livable space in a small house originally built in 1912. The proposed addition extends slightly closer to the rear property line than the existing building, but the board found the change modest and not harmful to neighborhood character and granted the area variance after the standard five-factor review.
Neighbors in attendance voiced support and no public opposition was recorded. The board’s unanimous vote approved the variance; the owners were advised to follow standard Building Department permitting and construction requirements.
