Planning Board accepts initial application for EV chargers at 142 Route 17K, authorizes circulation of adjoiners' notices

Nick Coveney of Lynkwell represented Trident’s application for an amended site plan to install EV charging at 142 Route 17K, describing two charger systems and a total of four parking spaces.

Pat Hines (MHE) and Jim Campbell (Code Compliance) asked for a more detailed site plan showing property lines and the recently installed fence; Hines flagged County Planning circulation because of proximity to State Route 17K and said it is not possible to continue formal consideration until the revised plans show property lines. Coveney said a customer survey and fence information will be overlaid on the engineer's plan and resubmitted.

Campbell noted the EAF lacked construction‑hour entries; Coveney provided construction hours (7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) and confirmed the chargers will be available 24/7 to the public. Coveney also said utility‑mandated signage and stenciled parking indicators would be used, and that a transformer and service pedestal will be installed in coordination with Central Hudson. Planning staff asked the applicant to consider landscape screening (deer‑resistant Arborvitae) around the transformer and service equipment while keeping charger pedestals visible.

Pat Hines said the only action available on an initial appearance was authorization to circulate adjoiners' notices; the Board authorized circulation so the applicant can provide revised plans and proceed with notice requirements. No formal approvals were granted at this meeting; the Board reserved further action until the applicant supplies the detailed plans requested by staff.
