Staff explained the radio purchase replaces aging MTR 3000 radios that are no longer serviceable; new GTR 8000 units hold four channels and reduce the need for multiple control stations. The Santec contract was described as a small, data-driven study that will produce thresholds and standards for traffic-calming decisions and allow similar analyses to be applied at other intersections. Regarding the ambulance repair, staff and Captain McFarland confirmed the warranty will cover the estimated $22,000 repair and that a loaner ambulance will be supplied at no charge while the vehicle is in the shop.
The fiber committee recommended and the board approved daily summer electricity rates of $25 for 30 amp, $36 for 50 amp and $65 for 100 amp. All procurement motions were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
