The harbor committee voted to raise daily electrical-pedestal fees by $5 per category after reviewing current charges and anticipated electrical work related to planned pier improvements.
Committee members noted the municipality currently charges $20 per day for 30-amp, $31 for 50-amp and $60 for 100-amp service; comparable private rates were higher. Members discussed the long-term need to replace wiring and pedestals as part of the main-pier project and said small fee increases help build the capital reserves needed for those replacements.
A motion to increase the daily electric fees by $5 per category was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Next steps: staff will prepare a memo for the selectmen and implement the new fees as appropriate.
