The Visalia Unified School District Board approved a collective bargaining agreement with Classified School Employees Association (CSEA) Chapter 83 for the 2026–27 school year.
Assistant Superintendent HRD Ben Dylan told the board that district and CSEA bargaining teams reached a mutually agreeable contract that would be effective July 1 and run through June 30 of the following year. Dylan thanked both negotiating teams and asked the board to approve the recommended agreement.
The board opened a public hearing on the item, heard no additional testimony on the subject at the meeting, closed the hearing and approved the agreement by a 5–0 vote with two members absent.
Dylan framed the agreement as collaborative work in service of classified employees and, by extension, students who rely on those staff members. The board did not read the contract terms into the record at the meeting; the district indicated the agreement will take effect on the date presented.
