The Suffield Board of Education certified plans and project manuals dated June 4, 2026 for bidding on a roof replacement and a photovoltaic project at Suffield High School and approved the professional cost estimates required for the bidding process.
Board members and administration emphasized that the certifications authorize submission of the current plans for bidding only and do not constitute final plan approval. Administration said the documents will be reviewed by the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services and will require subsequent approvals from the Permanent Building Commission, the building inspector, the fire marshal, the health department and the ADA/504 compliance officer prior to contract award or construction.
MOTION #26‑75 (roof replacement) was moved by James Mol and seconded by Gianna Rossi and passed 7–0. MOTION #26‑76 (photovoltaic project) was moved by James Mol and seconded by Debra Dudack and passed 7–0. Both motions reference that the professional cost estimate and project manuals were completed in accordance with Level 3 of ASTM International Standard E1557 (UNIFORMAT II) and dated 06/04/2026.
The board did not award construction contracts at this meeting; the actions authorize bidding to proceed subject to the listed reviews and approvals.
