Board approves parking and facilities work at Eastmark and Crismon high schools; change order adds Cloud Road stalls

During the June meeting the governing board heard a construction update from district staff and approved a change order to expand student parking at Crismon High School.
Facilities presenter Amber Bordas said Eastmark High School is receiving a final parking lot (curbing complete; asphalt work scheduled) with expected completion in July 2026, new locker-room/academic space in the PE facility finishing this week, and that the work is funded with new-school construction dollars tied to enrollment growth. At Crismon High School, Bordas said curbs and concrete for a previously gravel lot are underway and should be finished before school starts; the district is also building an outdoor PE "hit" space to match other campuses and is performing warranty work on the field and track with conduit, sprinkler and drainage adjustments intended to be finished by the first home game.
The board approved Change Order No. 6 with Core Construction to complete additional parking stalls along the Cloud Road exit at Crismon (item described as "right under 100 additional parking stalls"). Bordas said the change order aligns with new-school facility division funding awarded to support campus growth. The motion passed on voice vote.
In the same block of agenda items, the board approved revisions to the 2026-2027 stipend/ex-duty and substitute salary schedules presented by Dr. Amy Cram and approved personnel recommendations in their entirety.
What happens next: Construction work is scheduled to meet school-start and athletic-season milestones; financial and scheduling details for the change order are included in district project documents and will be administered through the district's facilities and construction process.
