The Town of Westford Board of Assessors met May 20, 2026, and approved prior meeting minutes and a series of abatements and exemption items before adjourning at 10:15 a.m.
The board recorded unanimous (3-0) approval of the April 2026 meeting minutes and voted 3-0 to approve monthly motor-vehicle abatements listed in the minutes as two line items: 155 abatements totaling $23,870.03 and 85 abatements totaling $17,109.83. The board also reviewed and approved the monthly real-estate exemption report; the minutes show the board granted 29 exemption applications and denied 13 for fiscal year 2026. The exemption list in the minutes includes multiple exemption types and individual entries (examples recorded in the minutes include addresses such as 44 Flagg Rd, 13 Chestnut Rd and 36 Pleasant St, and a series of 41C and Community Preservation Act (CPA) entries with amounts recorded).
The board reviewed warrants and commitments for FY2026 and preliminary FY2027 figures. The minutes list several FY2026 omitted and CPA omitted amounts and preliminary FY2027 commitments, including: Real Estate Prelim $48,869,161.46; CPA Prelim $1,292,070.53; Personal Property Prelim $799,903.71; and an FY2026 MV Comm2 of $419,285.32. Other omitted amounts for FY2026 are recorded in the minutes (for example, real-estate omitted entries of $45,170.01 and $40,832.04 and CPA omitted items of $998.45 and $832.31).
A motion was made during the meeting to enter executive session to discuss applications for real-estate and personal-property abatements, exemptions and tax deferrals under Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 59, Section 60. The minutes note the board proceeded into executive session and later reconvened; the transcript does not record a roll-call vote tally for that motion.
On reconvening, the board approved the FY2026 tax deferral summary by a 3-0 vote and recorded approval of the 3 Park Drive abatement discussion, also 3-0. The meeting minutes were signed and filed by William G. Naser, MAA, who is recorded as staff present.
The board adjourned at 10:15 a.m. The minutes do not list public commenters and record no public attendance for this session. No further hearings or follow-up deadlines are listed in the minutes.
