Crawford utilities crew reports trunk-line inspection, manhole work and pending repairs

Dennis Krotz, reporting for Water/Sewer operations, updated the council on recent field work and maintenance.
Krotz said a trunk-line inspection from the gallery to the plant identified six air-leaf valves of which three require additional work; of four hydrants along the trunk line, two need restoration. Crews dug manholes in preparation for the annual sewer jetting contractor (WFI), added rings to bring 15–20 manholes up to grade, and will schedule electrical work to install compressors that were received for both plants.
Krotz and staff reopened older drawings obtained from MC Shaft that clarified line locations between spring boxes. He said crews will open additional spring boxes to confirm map accuracy. While digging, staff saw muddy groundwater in excavation holes but noted the water inside spring boxes remained clear; Krotz reported this as an indication that buried pipes were not crushed in the examined areas. He also reported backflow-device work and testing at the golf course, Harrison and the school and that monthly samples were sent to the state as required.
The report was provided for council information; no formal action was recorded beyond receiving the update and scheduling follow-up inspections and electrical work.
