Planning staff told the Park County Planning Board Feb. 19 that a revised draft of the county’s subdivision regulations is nearing completion and that appendix reorganizations (including moving fire protection standards into a newly labeled appendix) are underway.
The subdivision administrator said the consulting firm’s clean draft should arrive soon, after which the county will start a roughly 60-working-day public comment period and likely invite the consultants to present to the planning board before public engagement. Staff also noted statutory changes moving mobile-home and RV-park review to building/lease/rent regulations and described a commission request to study alternatives to the current citizen-initiated zoning pathway that would provide a county-initiated process with potentially higher thresholds for landowner buy-in and a structured public process.
Board members suggested future agenda items, including a discussion of impact fees. Staff said major subdivision applications and pre-application activity are in the pipeline and that the department will circulate material to the board as sufficiency reviews are completed.
