Public asks about track resurfacing as board celebrates state championships

During public comment, Brian Fine thanked the board for support of teams and asked whether resurfacing the school track is planned within the next two to five years. “I was just curious if in the next couple of two to five years if it's in the budget to have something done with the [track],” Brian Fine said.
The board did not commit to immediate work on the track. Board members and the superintendent said facilities priorities will be informed by an upcoming feasibility and facilities management plan and by the schedule for the new superintendent. One board member said: “I think we need to get our new superintendent in place and then have the meeting regarding the facilities feasibility plan,” and that the track would be considered in that prioritization.
The superintendent opened the meeting’s "good news" remarks by praising student athletes: the girls softball team reached the Final Four and the boys 4x400 relay won the state championship. The superintendent named several student qualifiers and placed athletes, including Reagan Hufford, Tatum Wesco, Stella Bowman, Olivia Loafman (girls 4x1 relay), and the boys 4x4 team (Kaden Bod, Garrett Fine, Ryan Nef and Gunnar Weldy) who won the state title.
Board members gave multiple public shout‑outs to community volunteers, the sheriff's department, and local first responders for their assistance during team celebrations. The board reiterated that facility needs, including the track, will be addressed through the district’s facilities planning process and once administrative leadership is settled.
