Council approved Resolution 2026‑074R authorizing the purchase and then passed a related budget amendment (Resolution 2026‑073R) to provide funding. Both votes were recorded by roll call (12 yes, two absent). Council members commented that the market is volatile and expressed support for completing the replacement now to avoid further price increases.
