Essex waives town permit fees for town property and nonprofits through 2027

The Essex Board of Selectmen voted on June 17 to waive Town of Essex permit application fees for permits on town property and town facilities and to extend that waiver to town nonprofit organizations through Dec. 31, 2027.
The motion, made by Stacia Libby and seconded by Bruce Glowac, passed unanimously. The board noted that applicants remain responsible for any state fees and for fees charged through PermitLink, the town’s online permitting platform.
The waiver covers town permit application fees only; details about which permit types are affected were not specified in the meeting minutes. The measure will remain in effect through the end of 2027 unless the Selectmen act to modify it earlier.
