"I'd like the record to show that I am being treated differently," the trustee said, explaining the short notice forced her to scramble and affected her ability to provide caregiving that day. She emphasized she was not challenging whether legal notice had been provided, but requested a courtesy of earlier notice.
Other board members and staff responded that the district met the legal requirement for special meetings, which requires 24‑hour notice, and said a text and an email were sent to all board members at the same time. Board members noted that no action can be taken on items not posted on the agenda under the government code.
No formal remedy or follow‑up action was recorded in the meeting minutes; the board proceeded to approve the agenda and later voted to approve a revised deputy superintendent job description and to adjourn.
