Dr. Rose told the board the agenda item was "to discuss the job description only." School staff explained the deputy superintendent title is a long‑standing position in the district, previously held by CFO Oscar Escobel, and that the current revision updates a job description first approved in 2018 to better reflect the district's needs.
Trustee Dominguez Cervantes moved to approve the revision; Vice President Tamayo seconded. The recording secretary called the roll and recorded a 5‑0 vote in favor.
Board members did not take any action to hire or appoint an individual at the meeting; the approved item was the revised job description only. The meeting adjourned immediately after the vote.
