The Little Flock City Council on Feb. 17 voted to select Nabholz as the construction management firm for the city’s planned City Hall and Street Department building and directed staff to begin contract negotiations.
Representatives of Nabholz and Flintco each presented to the council as the top two finalists from four submissions to the city’s request for qualifications. After the presentations, Council Member Robert Phillips moved to select Nabholz; the motion was seconded by Natalie Tibbs and passed 4–1, with Council Member Debb Formanek voting no. Mayor Jeff Van Sickler and council members indicated negotiations with the chosen firm will proceed before a contract returns to the council for approval.
Why it matters: selecting a construction manager starts the contracting and preconstruction phase for the city’s new municipal complex, which the agenda lists as a joint City Hall and Street Department project. Council members asked questions of both firms during the allotted presentation and question periods before the vote.
Next steps: staff will negotiate contract terms with Nabholz and bring a proposed contract back to the council for formal approval.
