The Marquette County Planning and Zoning Committee voted 5-0 on Feb. 5 to approve a rezoning request for a 41-acre parcel owned by Darryl Krassman and forward the matter to the County Board. The committee meeting was held in the Marquette County Service Center and virtually.
Jean Potter, planning and zoning administrator, summarized the request as a change from Prime Agriculture (AG-1) to General Agriculture (AG-2) for tax parcels 018-00825-0000 and 018-00821-0000 in Section 29, T17N R9E, Town of Newton. Potter said the requested zoning reflects what exists on the adjacent east and west sides of the property and that the Newton Town board had approved the rezone.
Applicant Darryl Krassman said he intends to split the property into three parcels, sell two and keep living in his home. Committee member John Bennett moved to approve the rezone and forward it to the County Board; Dave Krentz seconded. The motion carried 5-0.
The committee record shows the rezone will move to the County Board for final action. No conditions or amendments were recorded in committee discussion.
