The Plain City Council met Dec. 4, 2024, and at 6:31 p.m. entered an executive session under Ohio Revised Code Section 121.22(G)(2) to consider the purchase of property for public purposes. The council approved the evening's agenda and the minutes from the Nov. 25 regular meeting and adjourned at 7:28 p.m.
President M. Terry called the work session to order at 6:30 p.m. Mayor Jody Carney; councilmembers K. Ferguson, T. Harriman, A. Lewis, J. Sintz and President M. Terry were recorded as present. Councilmember J. Eudaily was absent.
Councilmember T. Harriman moved to approve the Dec. 4 work session agenda; Councilmember J. Sintz seconded and the motion carried with all members voting in favor. Harriman then moved to approve the Nov. 25 regular meeting minutes; Councilmember A. Lewis seconded and that motion also carried unanimously.
The agenda listed no discussion items, unfinished business or new business for the work session. The council then announced an executive session "to consider the purchase of property for public purposes" under Ohio Revised Code Section 121.22(G)(2).
Village Administrator Haley Lupton, Director of Law Paul-Michael La Fayette and staff members Ms. Granger, Mr. Kitts, Mr. Powers and Mr. Dreier attended the executive session. Councilmember A. Lewis moved to enter executive session at 6:31 p.m.; Councilmember J. Sintz seconded and the motion carried. Councilmember J. Sintz moved to exit executive session at 7:27 p.m.; Councilmember A. Lewis seconded and the motion carried.
Councilmember K. Ferguson moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Councilmember J. Sintz; the meeting adjourned at 7:28 p.m. The work session record does not indicate any formal votes on property purchase or other substantive decisions during open session.
