Village staff outlined proposed traffic-code amendments to prohibit under-speed vehicles, commonly called golf carts, from operating on sidewalks, multi-use paths and inside parks.
Administrator Haley Lupton said Clerk of Council Dreier had researched comparable ordinances and presented a draft approach. "The proposed legislation would prohibit under-speed vehicles, also known as golf carts, from operating on multi-use paths, sidewalks, and within parks," Dreier told Council.
Council members expressed support for the measure, noting it mirrors regulations in surrounding communities and is intended to protect pedestrians and bicyclists. Staff will prepare the ordinance language and bring it back for formal readings.
