The Allegany County Personnel Committee on June 3 handled multiple procedural and staffing actions.
Appointments and reporting: The committee approved a recommendation that Sarah M. Decker of Fillmore fill an unexpired three‑year term on the Board of Ethics effective May 30, 2026 (term to Dec. 31, 2028). The committee also approved establishing standard workday records for elected and appointed officials for reporting to the New York State and Local Employees’ Retirement System; resolutions will be prepared.
Staffing requests: County Administrator Carissa Knapp requested and the committee approved creating and filling one temporary part‑time Office Aide (Section IV) in the County Administrator’s Office (estimated annual salary $4,800–$5,400; benefits $1,154–$1,298; 100% county-funded). Director of Economic Development Ashley Smith requested and the committee approved creating and filling a temporary full‑time Office Aide in Economic Development (estimated salary $5,120–$5,760 for ~320 hours; benefits ~$1,230.85–$1,384.70; 100% county-funded). Both requests were referred to Ways & Means to fill.
The committee also moved into an executive session at 11:19 a.m. to discuss a particular person's medical, financial, credit or employment history, reconvened at 11:57 a.m., and adjourned the meeting at 11:57 a.m.
