Allegany County approves $8,000 annual agreement with Agricultural Society to maintain fairgrounds

The Allegany County Resource Management Committee approved a resolution on June 3 authorizing the chairman to enter into a one‑year agreement with the Allegany County Agricultural Society that provides $8,000 to maintain the county fairgrounds and buildings.
County Administrator Carissa Knapp requested the resolution under County Law § 224(5). The term of the agreement is Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2026; the request states that any funds not expended for the year shall be returned to the County and that the payment is budgeted in the 2026 county budget. The request was approved on a motion by Legislator Kevin "Fred" Demick, seconded by Legislator Gretchen Hanchett, and carried.
The committee did not discuss amendments to the agreement at the meeting. No vote tally by name was recorded in the minutes beyond the motion and the second.
