The Saratoga Springs Design Review Board cleared several routine items during its June 17 session. On the consent agenda the board approved an unlit wall sign at 320 Broadway (Saratoga Arts Center) with a condition that the applicant drill sign studs into mortar rather than brick. The board also approved demolition at 445 Church Street, where the owner (Stewart Shops) said the post‑demolition plan is to backfill with stone and maintain the paved area.
The board tabled the 543 Broadway sidewalk café application after the applicant did not appear. For smaller façade projects the board generally asked applicants to return with clearer work‑limit lines and masonry details: at 64 Ludlow Street the board recommended alternatives to cutting brick arches and asked the applicant to present revised drawings; at 270 West Avenue (King Wealth Management) the board asked the owner to refine mullion patterns and consider a triple‑ganged or paired window solution for better continuity.
Board members urged higher‑quality materials in several cases and suggested non‑binding aesthetic improvements for post‑demolition lots (pollinator gardens, seedings) though most members declined to make maintenance a formal condition.
