If we choose to examine alternative idea, we will be reaching out to make you aware," which Sheldon read aloud. Sheldon said the community is organized, has funds raised and is prepared to oppose future proposals, and he asked the commission to consider convening with residents to explain permit paths and timelines so neighbors can weigh in on water usage, septic systems and potential river pollution.
Kevin O’Connor, who said many people at a prior meeting were upset about the project, criticized the developer’s presentation and credibility, saying it was odd that a purchaser would spend about $300,000 without a clear plan. "You don't spend $300,000...and not have some idea what you want to do with the property," O’Connor said, calling that inconsistency a credibility issue and urging the board to ensure public comment opportunities are clear.
Roger Churton, another commenter, said he had learned that the county’s planning review board had been reinstated and commended the commission for that action.
