Silverstein expressed his interest in serving as chairman and was nominated by Joshua Machnik. Jonathan Treat seconded the nomination and the motion carried unanimously, 5–0–0. Anne Decker had called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and presided at the start of the session.
The vote to elect Silverstein as chair was recorded as unanimous among the five voting members present: Anne Decker, Joshua Machnik, William Pike, Jonathan Treat and Morris Silverstein. The meeting also included routine business in which the board accepted the current budget and approved minutes; the session adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
