The Parks Commission received an overview of maintenance and imminent openings across city parks, including a May 16 opening for the Wibit inflatable and several routine repairs and landscaping efforts.
Ryan Robinson said the Wibit attraction will open Saturday the 16th and that a valve at the inflatable was fixed. Staff are painting park signs and pillars, trimmed trees at the Literacy Center, and noted that SW Trees Network is planting trees around town. Robinson also reported Pop Warner has new irrigation being installed and that J Street seeding and compost efforts are complete.
On maintenance issues, Robinson said the dog park fountain has been repaired and tree fencing completed but that latches are being broken approximately every two weeks and repaired during the week. Lighting for some sites will depend on budget; staff said there may be leftover lights from another project that could be reused.
These items were informational; no funding votes were taken. Staff will pursue repairs and schedule openings as resources allow.
