Warwick reports Hilltop water-pressure loss after valve failure; system declared safe

Village officials reported that on June 15, 2026 a pressure-reducing valve malfunction caused a significant loss of water pressure in Warwick's Hilltop pressure zone. Barry, speaking for village operations, said the tank was isolated by 10:00 a.m. and has been steadily refilling since then.
"All water treatment and distribution facilities are now fully operational and water pressure in the Hilltop area continues to improve," Barry said, adding that village staff and the village's consultant, H2 H2O, were monitoring the system. "The water system remains safe as treatment safeguards function as designed during the incident," he said.
Officials apologized for inconvenience to residents and thanked the water department and the consultant for detecting and addressing the malfunction in a timely way. The board did not report any boil-water order or similar public-health restriction; staff said the system's treatment systems operated normally during the event.
The board authorized ongoing monitoring and noted that the public will be updated if further action is necessary. The meeting then continued with other agenda items.
